We have a Civil Design Engineer and/or E.I.T. position available in our Lawrence, KS office. This career opportunity is not remote, so you must be willing to drive to/from Lawrence, KS on Monday through Friday. We hope to find an early to mid-career engineer with a desire to get planted and grow strong with our team.
RESPONSIBILITIES FOR THIS POSITION INCLUDE:
- Providing support on the design of residential and commercial development projects
- Providing support on the preparation of construction drawings for projects
- Continue his/her education process by developing appropriate professional skills and expertise
THE IDEAL APPLICANT WILL POSESS THE FOLLOWING QUALITIES AND SKILLS:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A working knowledge of Autodesk Civil 3D
- A working knowledge of basic engineering principles
- Familiarity with site development design and preparation of construction drawings
- Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations regarding design
- Experience working with local and state agencies in plan review and approval
- Experience working with city and county permit and plat review process
- Familiarity with storm water drainage design and analysis
- Familiarity with hydraulic and hydrologic principles
- Have the drive and ability to see a project through to its completion
- Must also be willing to learn, be detailed oriented, and have good interpersonal skills
- Experience with project management is a plus
- Required: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited college
- Required: Successful completion of the Engineer-in-Training exam
- One to three years’ experience a plus
- Land Development: 1 year (Preferred)
- Civil 3D: 1 year (Preferred)
- Drainage Study: 1 year (Preferred)
- Drainage Design: 1 year (Preferred)
- Waterline Design: 1 year (Preferred)
- Sanitary Design: 1 year (Preferred)
- Road Design: 1 year (Preferred)
